HOW TO BOOK A
ROOM
What is the best way
to book a room at the Hotel Anglo American
in Florence?
To reserve your guest room please use
our own hotel booking facility –
your credit card must be entered (no money
will be debited) in order to guarantee
the reservation. NB if you cancel before
the cancellation deadline we will not
charge you anything for using our own
hotel online booking system.
Is the online rate
for the whole room or per person?
The prices shown on the promotions page
and on the online booking system are in
Euro and are for the whole room and it’s
occupants, all rates include breakfast,
service and VAT.
Are children free?
Yes, Children up to the age of 5 are free
if they sleep in their parent’s
room. For older children and in order
to ensure more comfort we suggest you
reserve a triple room as it is more spacious.
For babies a cot will be provided although
a small daily supplement may apply.
Best Available Rates
if I book Online?
The Hotel Anglo American guarantees you
their best available rate if you book
online using our own hotel online booking
system. Click on the Book Now button to
check rates and availability for the dates
you are interested in.

By booking now you are simply guaranteeing
your reservation, no money will be debited
until you check out of our hotel. So what
are you waiting for? Go ahead and secure
your reservation whilst we still have

Why does the online
booking system ask for my credit card
number?
In order to finalise your online reservation
here at the Hotel Anglo American in Florence
you must input a valid credit card number
– no money will be debited until
you check out.
Is breakfast included
in the online price?
Yes, we offer a plethora of breakfast
items including cereals, fresh seasonal
fruit, juices, croissants, marmalades
and jams, cakes, pastries, bacon, eggs,
ham, bread, yoghurt etc.
What is the cancellation
deadline for my internet booking?
The cancellation policy is whatever we
have specified in the online terms and
conditions which you must read and agree
to before finalizing your internet reservation.
Our normal cancellation policy is 2 days
before arrival however, this may be longer
during busy periods and fairs therefore
it is best to read the online terms and
conditions.
Once I have made an
online reservation, how do I receive the
confirmation?
Our own hotel online booking system will
generate an email confirmation which will
be sent directly to your own personal
email account (that’s why we ask
you to input your email address twice
so that we are sure you will receive the
confirmation!) You may print this email
as proof of your reservation although
this is not necessary as we will have
a record of it in our hotel reservation
system.
Do you accept all
credit cards?
Visa, JCB, American Express, Master card,
Diners plus the Italian Debit Card “CartaSi”
and the UK equivalent Switch are all accepted.
My credit card details
are ok but the booking system won’t
accept it?
There are a few possibilities:
- maybe your card isn’t on the list
of acceptable credit cards?
-are the dates you have entered correc.
-Maybe your partner has been shopping
without telling you and you have exhausted
your funds.
-There is a problem with our online booking
system – apologies please try again
later!

GUEST ROOMS
Do all of your guest
rooms contain a Private Bathroom inside
the room?
Yes, the Hotel Anglo American is a quality
four star hotel property and consequently
all rooms contain a private marble bathroom
with complimentary accessories plus hairdryer
etc.
Are there any difference
in the standard of Rooms?
W e have 114 guest rooms which are divided
into executive rooms and 9 suites. The
suites are more spacious and contain extra
accessories such as slippers, bathrobes
and turn down service.
How do I reserve a
suite if the online booking system only
says Executive rooms are available?
If there are only executive rooms available
then this means we have sold our suites
for the dates you have requested…
try another date or alternatively just
book an Executive room and with the money
you save take your partner for a candlelit
dinner for two in our exclusive and romantic
restaurant!
Do the rooms have
air conditioning and central heating?
Yes, all of our hotel rooms contain both
air conditioning and central heating –
our hotel is a superior first class four
star property.
Do you have romantic
rooms?
Yes, we have quiet and romantic rooms
and suites.
Do the rooms/apartments
have a terrace/courtyard?
No but the Suite room on 4th floor and
Grand Duke’s Suite on first floor
have their own balcony.
Do you have Suite
Rooms?
We have 29 suites, spacious accommodation
with antique furniture, marble bathrooms
and all modern comforts expected of a
superior four star hotel.
Do you have non smoking
rooms?
Yes, we have non smoking rooms in compliance
with Italian legislation passed in 2005
when smoking was banned in all public
places including hotel restaurants, bars
and hotel lobbies. Whilst we discourage
smoking we do have a few smoking rooms
in the hotel for those individuals who
still enjoy a puff.
Is there a TV in the
rooms? Are there international satellite
channels?
Yes. All of the Anglo American Guest Rooms
are equipped with satellite television
- BBC and telephone.
Is there a telephone with direct dialling
in the rooms ?
Of course we are a four star hotel in
Florence although if we are honest we
would have to say that most people use
their mobile phones…

LOCATION
How do I get to your
hotel from the train station?
The Hotel Anglo American is only 200 metres
from Santa Maria Train Station i.e. approximately
10-15 minutes on foot. See the location
page which contains a detailed map of
our Hotel location as well as a map of
the hotel Anglo American’s location
in relation the main attractions in Florence.
How do I get to Florence
and the Hotel Anglo American from Pisa
International Airport?
Take the airport terminal bus to Pisa
Station where you can take train to Florence.
The journey time is approximately 70 minutes.
From the station either grab a taxi or
alternatively if you don’t have
too many suitcases walk to our hotel in
10 to 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can
take a scenic bus route through Tuscany
using the Terravision Airport Shuttle
Bus.
Journey time from
Pisa to Florence?
Both train and coach take approximately
just over 1 hour.
Journey From Airport
Florence Vespucci?
Only some charter airlines arrive here
but if you are lucky enough to fly direct
to Florence then simply jump in a cab
and you should be in the hotel Anglo American
in less than 20 minutes traffic permitting.
Santa Maria Novella
Railway
A taxi will cost approximately 10-15 Euro
but depends on traffic and how many bags
you have (bags over 80 cm long cost 1
euro per bag) If you don’t want
to take a taxi you can either walk or
take Bus D – check with Driver when
to get off for the Hotel Anglo American.
Is there an Executive
Hotel transfer service to/from Florence
or Pisa airport?
We can arrange a Pick-up upon request.
Costs vary depending on which airport
you are arriving. Please see the optional
extras on the online booking system

Is you Hotel open
all year?
The Hotel Anglo American is open all year
round.
Can I specify where
I would like my room located (preferred
floor, etc)?
The hotel staff will do their best to
accommodate your preferences however bear
in mind that none of our rooms have balcony
and the views are very similar.
Which languages are
spoken at the reception?
Italiano, English, Deutsche, Espagnol
and Francais
What category or star
rating is your hotel?
The Hotel Anglo American in Florence is
an official superior four star hotel –
our mission is to make our client’s
stay in Florence as memorable as possible
for all the right reasons! We concentrate
on providing super service with the classiest
comfort…… Consequently, the
Executive Rooms were conceived: cozy,
classy, comfortable and cheap for the
money. All rooms are spacious and contain
double beds which can be split into two
large singles and an ample work area with
desk, chair, writing materials and of
course satellite colour tv. All rooms
contain linen sheets which are replaced
daily, a kettle so that guests can enjoy
a cup of tea or coffee, a DVD player in
case the weather is wicked and you simply
want to stay in your room whilst enjoying
the latest Hollywood blockbuster…
of course the DVD player may also be used
to play music and in case you don’t
like our selection of films then never
fear as we have a number of SKY channels
which feature films in original English
language. Finally, we wouldn’t be
an original four star hotel in Florence
unless we offered our esteemed guests
a complimentary ginseng bathroom courtesy
kit made-up of anti-stress aromatherapy
kit, sleeping kit, bathrobes and soft
comfortable flip flops.
Does your hotel have
Parking Facilities?
Yes we have limited parking for hotel
guests but please advise us if you intend
to bring your car in order that we may
reserve a spot. NB a small daily supplement
is applicable for this service.
Do you have an Internet/E-Mail
point in the Property?
Each room has an internet ADSL connection
for use with your own laptop personal
computer.
Are pets welcome?
Sorry we do not allow pets of
any description in the hotel
Is there a restaurant
in the Hotel?
Yes, we have an award winning restaurant
“Il Granduca” which serves
both regional and national dishes. Our
in-house resident chef will see that your
palates are given a gourmet introduction
to the specialties of the Tuscan region
with a particular emphasis on Florentine
dishes.
Do you have a Meeting
Room or Business Facilities?
Yes, our hotel has 3 congress rooms able
to host up to 240 people theatre style.
The meeting rooms are some of only a few
meeting rooms in Florence to contain Wi-Fi
internet access in partnership with a
secure wireless internet provider based
here in Florence.
What style of Architecture
and Interior Design is the Hotel Anglo American in Florence?
Charming and Spacious the hotel reflects
the mood of Florence in the aristocratic
splendour of the late 18th century. Antique
furniture from the period and rich oil
paintings from renowned Florentine and
Dutch masters decorate the walls and our
rooms communicate to our guests the lavish
residential home which is now the Hotel
Anglo American. The suites are twenty-nine,
among them the prestigious Tolstoy suite,
the luxury of our champion suite is epitomized
by the prestigious Tuscan oil painting
which adorns its spacious walls. Our commitment
to maintaining the high standard of maintenance
is expressed via our vigorous no smoking
policy throughout the hotel (smokers may
continue to smoke in their own guest rooms
designated for smokers). Our restaurant
the "Il Granduca" which is decorated
in the classical Liberty style and where
you can enjoy a feast of regional Tuscan
and Florentine favourites.
